We are pleased to announce that reigning MTB World Champion and Team LUNA Chix hotshot, Catharine Pendrel, will host the 5th Annual NICA Awards to recognize and celebrate NICA’s outstanding student-athletes, dedicated coaches, and passionate volunteer community that support the high school mountain biking revolution.
Pendrel states, “I am super excited to be a part of the NICA Annual Awards! NICA is an amazing program that I wish existed when I was a teenager…and in Canada! There is nothing that inspires me more than seeing young people having fun on bikes. Cycling has given me so much as a person. It has encouraged me to really challenge myself and discover my potential, not only as an athlete, but as a mentor. For this I am ever grateful. I look forward to meeting the next generation of cyclists!”
This year, NICA will be honoring 13 individuals in 11 different award categories. We proudly invite you to this stellar event to learn more about the impact NICA is having. The annual NICA Awards will be held January 24th at Clif Bar and Company, 1451 66th Street, Emeryville, CA, Preceding the gala event, NICA will host a mountain bike ride in the famously beautiful Northern California coastal hills.
