Congratulations to NICA’s Class of 2021!

We are incredibly proud of all our graduating student-athletes and wish them all the best as they step into a new chapter in their lives. Thank you NICA Seniors for your dedication and commitment to your teams, leagues and the national NICA community!

Keep reading to get to know some members of NICA’s Class of 2021!


Sam Morrison - Bishop Kenny High School / 904 Duval Devils Composite, Florida League

Sam is a GRiT Ambassador with the Florida League and took 1st Place overall this season. She will be attending Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, North Carolina on a cycling scholarship to study Outdoor Recreation & Management.

Charles "Chaz" Childers - Northern Virginia Composite, Virginia League / Independent, Trails for Youth, Maryland League

Chaz has been a NICA student-athlete for the past seven years. Chaz first raced with the Virginia League for Northern Virginia Composite Team and then as an independent rider with the Maryland League while also assisting as a junior counselor for Trails for Youth. Chaz graduated with a 4.0 GPA and will be attending James Madison University in Virginia.

Teresa Iosbaker - Temescal Canyon High School, SoCal League

Teresa has been part of the team since her freshman year and served as Team Captain for the past two years. She is extremely dedicated to her education, and to the team and the success of each of our team members. Teresa has earned a 4.2 GPA in Temescal's Engineering Program and was named the Female Athlete of the Year for her entire school!

Jakehl Hayes - Tallahassee Thunder, Florida League

Jakehl has been a role model and brings his positive attitude to practice every day. His team feels incredibly fortunate to have had him as a rider and is excited that he may join them as a coach next year!

Macy Bentley - AAEC Prescott Valley High School Team, Arizona Cycling Association

Macy joined the team with no prior mountain biking experience and has gained skills and a love for the sport over the past season. Macy is graduates with both her high school diploma, but also an Associates of Science degree, from Yavapai College. Macy maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout her high school and college tenure. She graduated with 85 college credits. This fall, Macy will be attending Arizona State University on a full scholarship where she will study mathematics.

Logan Misiaszek - Waterville Mountain Bike Club, New York League

Logan is the only senior on his team and has been involved with NICA since his 7th grade year. During his time he has become the leader on his team and helps lead rides and instructs the younger riders. Logan always has a smile on his face no matter where you see him. The friends and lessons he has learned will serve him well in college and beyond. Though this wasn’t his best year racing, he still finished with a smile every time. This fall he will be attending SUNY Poly in Utica NY for Mechanical Engineering Tech with hopes of working in the bike industry afterwards.

Leanna Skeete - Pembroke Pines Charter School, Florida League

Racing for Pembroke Pines, Leanna was involved in Florida's GRiT program and finished her season in 3rd place overall!

Gustavo Salama - Pembroke Pines Charter School, Florida League

Gustavo had a great season with his team and will be attending Florida Polytechnic University to study STEM robotics and computers.

Aimee Baldwin - Salem Descenders, Oregon League

Aimee joined the Descenders team in Salem Oregon in 2018 and is an Oregon GRiT Ambassador. After graduating, Aimee will help coach her team before attending the University of Puget Sound to pursue a degree in Science and a minor in Music.

Jasmine & Sebastian Bell - Tredyffrin Easttown Mountain Bike Team (TEMTB), Pennsylvania League

Jasmine and Sebastian Bell are an awesome twin duo that have been a big part of the TEMTB family for many years. Both Jasmine and Sebastian competed and won races at the varsity level, they have been excellent ambassadors for the sport of mountain biking. The two are serious competitors but more importantly, they are always inclusive and supportive teammates with ready smiles and a positive attitude.

Aaron Hoak - Tallahassee Thunder, Florida League

Aaron has been a role model and super positive influence on the team this season. He will be attending Lively Technical College this fall.

Lauren Lopez - SoCal League

Lauren won the California State Championships as a freshman and currently competes at the pro level in UCI races. Lauren suffered a severe concussion in August 2020 that impacted her ability to perform academically and athletically, but has been working hard on recovery and recently began racing again. Lauren received two awards from her high school and will be attending Lees-McRae College this fall.

James Tinner - Tallahassee Thunder, Florida League

James has been a role model and positive influence for team this season. New to competitive cycling, James quickly developed mountain biking skills that match the strength and endurance he already had and had an awesome and fun season racing with the Florida League.

Miriam Rose - SoMont Cheltenham Team, Pennsylvania League

Miriam will be attending the University of Vermont to study Biology. Miriam was featured in this 2020 race poster with the graphic illustration of her taken from this wonderful photograph!

Rafael Segura - Broward Composite, Florida League

Rafael raced for Broward Composite finishing 4th for the overall season!

Carlee Pate - Tallahassee Thunder, Florida League

Carlee raced for the Tallahassee Thunder and finished the season with a 5th overall!
